3. MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY

Hello, my dear explorers! The post assignment for this week is: What is your favourite piece of technology? Please, include:

  • Why is this your favourite piece of technology?
  • How do you use it/What do you do with it?
  • How does it affect your life?
  • Would you recommend using it?
  • Upload pictures

Remember:
  • To write no less than 140 words.
  • To leave a comment on three of your classmates' posts and another one on mine too.

I cannot deny that technology has changed our lives. Personally, I believe that cell phones with internet access have completely revolutionised my life. With a cell phone connected to the internet, I can basically manage and have access to everything I am interested in wherever I am.

I remember that my father bought my first cell phone when I entered university. At that time, I just used it to call my parents, call some close friends, and take really low-quality pictures. Hahaha.

I do not do any extraordinary things with it. Most of the time, I just listen to my music and upload some pictures on Instagram, but I also spend some time answering students’ emails and checking teaching material on the net. It is amazing how you can get all the information you need.

I can honestly say that I do not depend on it so much, but it is becoming a little bit hard for me to imagine this life without it, especially because instant answers have become a new trend among people. Sometimes I miss it when I was a student and I was able to find exactly what I was looking for among bookshelves, but then I remember Google and I forget about that.

For these simple reasons only, I think that one of my favourite pieces of technology would have to be a cellphone with an internet connection and earphones, of course. If you can have those, I highly recommend having a smartphone and using it.

So, would you give up your smartphone? How long could you go without it? What would life be like without a smartphone?

  4. Hi teacher, it´s crazy how the internet has changed the world and our way of life. The same with the phones. I remember the old phones, which are like "shells", and I remember one what turned on lights when someone call you.

  10. Hi, miss! I think it depends, why do I give up my smartphone in the first place? What is the circumstance? and what is the context? If the question is "would you give up your smartphone right now"? I would say no, I have to do many things for the university, and my phone is one of the gears that I have to connect to my classmates, for example.

  12. Hi!
I like to think that the smartphone is not essential in my life, but in reality it helps me a lot to live day by day, although honestly if it were not because it is easier to carry than my notebook, I would probably not walk with it at all because I do not send messages, I do not like calls and rarely use social networks (lately only for the university and the people I've met here) so ... I think I could live without it, at least for a while.

  14. Hi miss!!
i would not give up my smartphone. Because it is very convenient to have everything in one device. I use it to work, listen to music, study and much more.
although I could be without my smartphone for a long time, my life would not change much.
To listen to music I would use my MP4 as before. To see the time I would use a watch.

I was born in Talcahuano, Chile, on July 15, 1987. I have one sister only. Her name is Daniela, she's younger than me and is a teacher of biology. She's not married and has one daughter.  I'm the oldest sister but also the oldest cousin, so I grew up believing that I was a “protector of the realm”, at times. I think I come from a typical middle-cl
